Mamilah originated in Leeds in early 2017, amongst a group of friends from all corners of the UK and Ireland. Bonded by the misused umbrella term ‘neo-soul’ for much modern R&B and Soul, we set out on a mission to exude a more soulful flame, inspired by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Charles Bradley.

Since our humble beginnings playing locally in Leeds, we have expanded to playing Leeds biggest venues such as The Brudenell Social Club, Belgrave Music Hall and The Wardrobe. We have also began touring around the UK, playing alongside bands such as KOKOROKO, Children of Zeus, Agbeko and Dat Brass. Our debut single ’Sundrips’ was released in February 2018 and was quickly followed by our debut EP ‘Moonlight Walking’ in August 2018, which has received acclaim from the likes of Alan Raw (BBC Introducing West Yorkshire), John Kane (BBC Leeds) and Bandcamp Daily. Check out our upcoming gigs via the ‘What’s On’ platform or over on our Facebook.
